Game #153: Dodgers at Pirates
PNC Park | 12:35 | Maholm vs. Clayton Kershaw | Box
Pre-Game Thoughts
Clayton Kershaw
isn't legal to drink. He is the first player born in 1988 to make the
Majors. He was the Dodgers #1 selection in 2006. 19 starts into his
career, he is 4-5 with a league average ERA. Kershaw has won his last
two decisions. He has yet to face the Pirates or any of the Pirate
hitters.
Paul Maholm
looks to match his career high with 10 wins. Despite a 3.27 ERA in the
second half of the season, Maholm's mark is just 3-3 after the break.
He was beaten by LA way back on April 16. Note my prediction in that pre-game write up about Brad Penny. Well, I was a bit off.
Maholm is winless (0-3) in four career starts against LA with a 6.65
ERA. The Dodgers are hitting a meager .242 against Maholm (11-42). No
one has more than three hits and the club has just one XBH against
Maholm.
